What's new?

Me writing a new book that's what. Though I must admit I am simultaneously working on three and I'm just not sure which one to put out. I guess when I'm almost done with all three, my heart and creativity will speak to me and guide me in which one to release. Right? What do you think?

One book is about the steps you need to becoming an artist/entertainer/author. Another book is about my belief in God as I answer some of the questions that has been asked of me in regard to Him. The latter is a children's/poetry book.

Aunt Florie (Reignites) "Poetry 4 Every Occasion"

Hey my Simple Treasures/Black Swans: I just thought I would stop in and share something about me, poetry and another dimension. So, years ago beginning at 14 until the age of 18, I created an unofficial small business for myself called "Poetry 4 Every Occasion" and I would customize poems for people who lost their loved ones.

It was something I enjoyed but it was sad when I would have to ask questions about their beloved in order to create the poem that was needed. However, when my brother passed away, that was the last time I did customization for that area of life because it became too hard and I knew then just what they were going through as me being my own client. Because though I enjoyed making people happy with the combination of my words and there thoughts mixed with emotions and nostalgia it was also sad because it hurts to want to begin to remember that a loved one is gone and are never to return.

But, when your best friend asks you to write a poem for her family do to their recent loss, you do it, and truth be told, well, I was honored. I couldn't even believed they remembered I used to do that, as it was so long ago, and though I haven't done it in a long time, it really did come back as natural as it started. Only this time was different, I wrote the poem and then as a Poet, I was asked to deliver the poem at the repass. God blessed. They were more than happy with the poem, overwhelmed with the delivery and to top it off I presented them with an autographed poem with all of the bells and whistles. They loved it and I love them and I'm humbled, grateful and blessed.

Thank you Lord for allowing me to bless others that has always supported me. Always help where you can.

RedShift and Until...

Hey everyone! 

Happy New Year!!!! I hope all is well and that you and your families, had an amazing Christmas and more. As for me, I did. God has blessed me again and I'm ever grateful, because only he knows if I deserve it. Well, over my break, I was invited by Dannie Hofmann who plays the "Sax" in the new group called RedShift to perform a spoken word piece.  

I have to say, this was fun and I truly enjoyed myself and every performance before and after me, which included the mesmerizing  and enchanting Paula Gabriel, the strong and powerful blow horn of Donzelle Harris, the multi-talented Shere Disraeli along with the wonderful sound of RedShift; was really live.

The piece I performed was familiar, yet a fan favorite called "Gotta-Go, Gotta-Leave." Inspired by the artist Vivian Green. I have to be honest, I was on and if you ask if I did that? I did. LOL! I was very happy with my performance, RedShift made me feel right at home.

Special shout out to Dannie Hofmann for inviting me to do what I do and appreciating what I do.

L.A. Black Parent Magazine Interviews Author and Poet Until..

Hey everyone!

It's me! How are you? Are you guys ready for the Holidays? I know I'm not. I have not even began my Christmas shopping yet. 😩 Hey, don't judge me. We Want to Hear Your Voice

I have to say, I had an amazing time at the We Want to Hear Your Voice event which was a music networking mixer put together by the Kind-Hearted Compassion and Action Foundation. The performers were Allah the Emcee, Mary Jane Harris, Apollo Bebop "Hip Hop" Jazz Band, Austin Brito and last but certainly not at all least, Author and Poet Until graced the stage again performing her fan favorite poems. 

One being the premiered piece from the event last year that

received much praised at the Elevate Genius Gala called "Dreams "Are meant to be lived" part II and another that induced her poetry career back in 2007 and was her most requested segment at her poetry resident at Poetic Uprising Series at Max Blooms Cafe recently ending this year in  Fullerton, California was "Gotta' Go, Gotta' Leave (Inspired by Vivian Green). 

We Want to Hear Your Voice was hosted in the city of Santa Ana, California in GCS Clothing Store that host paintings by various artists, really cool graffiti and designed branded t-shirts. A great time had by all. A freestyle session took place with Allah the Emcee and Apollo Bebop with ad-lib's from Mary Jane Harris and DJ Kaipo from Bone Thugs n Harmony smashed it.
